Tariff of Charges

Introduction

We want you to be fully aware of the charges that we will make within our Will Writing Service. The charges set out below reflect the work involved from the taking of instructions through to the storage of your Will. These charges may be revised from time to time. Value for Money

We are committed to offering you value for money and explaining clearly what our service will cost. We have negotiated an excellent deal with Irwin Mitchell for the legal work required in the preparation of a Will. An administrative fee is payable by Skipton Trustees Limited (STL) for their services, details of which are set out below.

Mirror Will

Lasting Power of Attorney

This is a tool usually used in connection with Discretionary Trust Wills and may require you to change the joint ownership of your property to owning half each. Your home will then no longer automatically pass to your spouse on death.

Transfer of Registered Property

For the safe storage of your Will and Power of Attorney, within Skipton Building Society\'s vault, free of charge.

Will Retrieval Fee

A retrieval fee is payable if your Will is to be amended by another solicitor.

†Please note the Office of the Public Guardian charge an additional £150 Court Registration Fee.

Estate Administration Charges

A minimum fee of £700 always applies - Exclusive of VAT.

Estate Administration includes identifying the deceased\'s estate, applying for the Grant of Probate and distributing the estate to the beneficiaries. The value of the estate for pricing purposes is determined as all assets, less any liabilities as at the date of death (excluding any mortgages).

The cost of administration is dependent upon the complexity of the estate and is always agreed with the Executor, and with the Executor\'s permission, the beneficiaries, before any administration work progresses.
